Why is the Ag land off limits?

Tech moved the Dairy Science Complex to Kentland Farm last year making room for the new entrance road from U.S. 460. I don’t know if it is Tech’s plan to move all the agriculture facilities to Kentland in the upcoming years? If so, all that land between U.S. 460 and campus will be available.

According to the Tech website, future campus expansion will take place in the northwest corner of campus (between Prices Fork Road and Duck Pond Drive). Campus expansion will be behind The Inn at Virginia Tech and the Visitor and Undergraduate Center, along West Campus Drive and north of Duck Pond Drive. I don’t know if the Tech Golf Course will survive?

The other area of expansion will be west of the Biosciences Precinct (Buildings behind Litton-Reaves Hall down Washington Street). Expansion will go beyond the “Cage” area (student parking area). It looks like the Biosciences Precinct will eventually connect to the College of Veterinary Medicine and the new Northwest Campus area (along Prices Fork Road). This is all part of Tech's 40 year campus plan.
